BYOC Cloud trunks can require inbound SIP digest authentication

Telephony administrators can add standards-based SIP digest authentication to inbound BYOC Cloud carrier trunks, beyond IP-based access control lists.

What changed

Genesys added an option to enable SIP digest authentication for inbound BYOC Cloud carrier trunks. Inbound SIP requests can be authenticated with credentials in addition to the existing IP-based ACL controls.

Why it matters

Credential-based verification adds a second check on who is sending SIP traffic to a trunk. Carriers must support digest authentication, so enabling it is a coordinated change with the carrier rather than a toggle to flip in production.

REVIEW

Confirm carrier support for inbound digest authentication, then enable and test it on a non-production trunk before applying it to live carrier trunks.
