Set task and email capacity by workload type

Task and email concurrency can now reflect workload complexity, priority or business function instead of one limit for the entire channel.

What changed

Amazon Connect lets managers classify Task and Email contacts into workload types with separate concurrency and interruption rules. Previously, channel-level settings treated contacts alike regardless of effort.

Why it matters

Capacity settings can better reflect the attention different work requires. For example, a team can allow more simple tasks while limiting simultaneous high-attention work without creating a one-size-fits-all channel rule.

REVIEW

Define a small set of workload types and test their concurrency and interruption rules against realistic mixed workloads before applying them broadly.
