Webex Contact CenterProduct Update

Desktop inactivity sign-out is now capped at 12 hours

The maximum Desktop inactivity sign-out drops from 10,000 minutes to 12 hours, and organizations above the cap or with the timeout off move to 12 hours automatically.

What changed

Cisco lowered the maximum Desktop inactivity sign-out in Webex Contact Center desktop profiles from 10,000 minutes (almost seven days) to 12 hours. User activity resets the timer. Organizations set above 12 hours are reduced to 12 hours automatically, and a 12-hour sign-out is also applied where the inactivity timeout had been turned off before the change.

Why it matters

This changes behavior without any configuration step. Supervisor desktops left open on wall displays, long overnight shifts and agents who stay signed in across breaks can now be signed out after 12 idle hours, which shows up as unexpected logouts and gaps in real-time views. Cisco positions the cap as keeping sessions and real-time reports accurate.

REVIEW

Check desktop profile timeout settings, identify teams or displays that relied on longer or disabled timeouts, and brief supervisors and WFM before they see unexpected sign-outs.
