What changed
AWS expanded Amazon Connect Customer testing and simulation so tests can validate the outcome of a flow action, not only that it started. Tests can verify the data returned when an action completes, such as a Lambda function response, an Amazon Lex resolved intent, or the variables set by an Agentic CX block. When a test fails, it identifies the action that returned the unexpected result.
Vendor documentation (opens in a new tab)Why it matters
Many flow defects come from an integration that returns the wrong data rather than one that fails to run. Asserting on action results catches those problems at the step that caused them, which makes automated regression testing of flows and AI blocks far more useful before a change goes live.

Implementation considerations
REVIEWAdd result assertions for Lambda, Lex and Agentic CX steps to existing flow test cases, prioritizing flows that drive routing or self-service, and confirm the capability is available in your Region.
