Salesforce data actions must move off the legacy credential type

Genesys will deprecate the Salesforce (legacy) username-and-password credential type for Salesforce data actions on October 7, 2026.

What changed

Genesys announced that on October 7, 2026 it will deprecate the Salesforce (legacy) credential type, which relies on the Salesforce OAuth Username-Password Flow. Genesys says customers must migrate existing Salesforce data actions integrations to the Salesforce (OAuth Client Credential Flow) credential type. The change follows Salesforce's own deprecation of the Username-Password Flow.

Why it matters

Flows that look up or update Salesforce records through data actions can fail if their integration still uses the legacy credential. The deadline is two days after the announcement, so the migration needs to be treated as an operational change rather than routine housekeeping.

Action

ACTION REQUIRED

Inventory Salesforce data actions integrations, identify any using the Salesforce (legacy) credential type, and move them to the OAuth Client Credential Flow type. Test dependent Architect flows and scripts after switching credentials.
